i blame john kerry, personally. well, more the democratic party, for choosing such a uninspiring man as their leader. touting a wrinkled, back-peddling war 'hero' as "not bush" is not enough to make a country vote for him... i'm not surprised the country decided to vote for the devil they knew. put another bill clinton up there, and there'd be no contest, because he was the sort of man you WANTED for your president, and not just because he was a prettier alternative to GB Sr.

what i find the most depressing is the fact that bush can never be re-elected after this (damn two term policy), so it's not like he has to hold back and be cautious in order to win public support in 2008. he can do whatever the fuck he wants, and then in 07, he'll call another war so he can extend his term even further (damn wartime policy).

i think it's a sad comment on north american politics when we're not sad because kerry lost, but rather because bush won. that lazy-ass view on the part of both the democrats and the voters was never enough to change the us government. then again, it's not my country. it's just the us is more interesting.

side note: i read a survey that said canadians know more about current american politcs than their own.

don't let all the media slurs about dubya scare you. the utter vast majority of them are bogus.

as for the bible thumpingness of dubya, be thankful for that. because if he didn't have the notion of good vs evil to hold him back and influence his decisions, however much you disagree with them, the world could be really F'd.

think about it. if the US were to actually behave like the euro's accuse us of. think of the carnage. think of an abu ghraib that was state directed to be that way. i'm not talking about 5-10 asshats gone bad, building nekkid pyramids.

think about how efficient the US military really is. think about what they could do. think about what bush is accused of, and see the difference between the two.
