i am alive...!

so i ended up bringing no food with me on the plane, which was instantly regrettable because the few loonies i had on me were spent on westjet's special $3 headphones, forcing me to scarf down a chicken salad at the palamino bar in the calgary airport, where they garnish everything with nacho strips. those silly westerners.

i bought headphones to appear preoccupied to this leb guy who had tried to pick me up as we were boarding. ok no i am not that lame, i bought them to watch tv and preoccopy myself from five hours of being in the air. a note to the leb guy though... next time you might want to talk less about how airports racially profile you. i dunno. just a tip i guess.

i arrived in vic at 9:10 and met my sista diana. we drove home in her new mini as a gazillion and one billboards flashed by (first nations peeps own the land). there is a shitload of nature here. and it is sooooooooo much prettier than ontarian nature. and they have cherry blossom trees. i want a cherry blossom tree.
i've been taking it easy so far, because my mind was so fried from the four-day-exam-fest that almost killed me. i hope to never spend another birthday like that ever again, but it is inevitable.

i'm starting to get better, so starting this afternoon i'm going to start taking my touristing more seriously. because being on vacation is serious business.

there are a lot of really cool little nifty stores to be discovered in the downtown core, like she she bags and dilemma and that second-hand and vintage clothing store whose name escapes me right now. i believe it's on yates. i believe i need to move out to BC just for the lack of tim horton's and the abundance of starbucks. and the cherry blossom trees.

though vic is expensive; the lower-end houses start at $400 grand, which is why everyone lives in condos. but the city is considered to be like the most beauuuutiful in canada, and as my sis calls it, it's the town of newly-weds and newly-deads. and it's so true, i've barely found anybody my age or younger.

anyways, it's time for a mirage latte, and i need to get the house key copied. bye losers.

p.s. i will be updating more. and in the meantime, check out da flickr photos.
