"it's really about the fact that she had members of her staff there down in the riding going to a strip club doing immigration work out of her campaign office, helping somebody that was on her campaign and showing that kind of preferential treatment. it's not appropriate" (deputy conservative leader peter mcckay).
yes. scandalous. and this time, let's call it STRIPPERGATE, even though it has nothing to do with strippers, right? oh but there's more:
what do you do when you're a strip club owner who recruits foreign strippers and the government stops allowing romanian strippers into the country? if you're peter psihogios, you make a huge billboard embarrassing the immigration minister and post it on parliament hill.
"they dropped the ball - the government - and they're taking it out on us. we're the whipping boys. and what for? what did we do? this program has been working good for five years."
isn't freedom of speech great?
so this is scandal in canada. this. a fuckin case of "preferential treatment". this is worse than the sponsorship scandal. i mean, at least a stripper is involved but anyone with more than two brain cells knows that's not why everyone's shoving sticks up their asses.
at the same time, that russian dancer is making this whole thing slightly more... exotic. less boring. c'mon, we're canada. we think shovelling snow off our driveways is an adventure.
but since we can't have our exotic foreign strippers any longer, let's face it... it's a lost battle. bring on the tacky sweaters and conversations about the weather, because canada is now squarer than ever. HOORAH!
politicswatch is all over it plus cbc coverage
